Don Bushell, Attorney at Law

Trust Administration, Probate, Real Estate, and Fiduciary Matters

Seattle, Washington

I represent trustees, successor trustees, personal representatives, beneficiaries, families, property owners, homeowners’ associations, businesses, and referring attorneys in matters involving trust administration, probate, real estate, fiduciary duties, and selected civil disputes.

My practice is built around careful document review, practical judgment, and helping clients understand the legal and practical choices available before deciding how to proceed.

I am licensed to practice law in Washington, California, and Arizona.

My Practice Includes

  • trust administration and estate administration;
  • probate and personal representative matters;
  • wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and estate planning;
  • real estate, deeds, easements, and boundary issues;
  • homeowners’ association governance and disputes;
  • fiduciary duties and trust-related disputes; and
  • selected civil litigation involving property, fiduciary, or document-intensive matters.

Experience That Shapes My Practice

Before becoming an attorney, I spent many years working in technology with Boeing’s IT organization. That background continues to help me analyze complex records, timelines, electronic documents, and fact-intensive disputes.

I have also served as president of two homeowners’ associations, giving me practical experience with board governance, governing documents, enforcement issues, and the realities of community decision-making.

In addition to private practice, I contributed to nationally published bar examination preparation materials for legal educator Steve Emanuel and received published acknowledgment in the Sixth Edition of Strategies & Tactics for the MBE, published by Wolters Kluwer.

A Practical Approach

Not every legal disagreement should become a lawsuit. Whether the issue involves a trust, an estate, inherited real property, a homeowners’ association, or another civil matter, I begin by identifying the controlling documents, understanding the timeline, evaluating the available legal options, and helping clients choose a practical course of action.

I help people understand documents before those documents become expensive problems.
